Our students did not choose where to live, but they can choose to grow. No matter where they live in the world, the fact is they have been designed for good which opens up an endless amount of possibilities. They will learn the quality of their character is determined by a series of choices they make and will be challenged to create a specific plan for personal growth that is based on their unique strengths and answers the question, “what will you choose to do with what you have been given?”
Our students did not choose where to live, but they can choose to lead. Community and Initiative teaches students to be leaders who step forward as agents of change in their community taking courageous action toward genuine and transparent relationships.
This workshop is a tool that has been developed to lead groups through a step-by-step process of collaborative learning and planning, ending with a set of S.M.A.R.T. goals in order to jump start the appropriate next steps it will take to truly address the challenge you are facing. Start to finish it runs approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on how fast the group works.
More than 20 years ago a TCK (Third Culture Kid) named Whitni Thomas wrote a brilliant poem that captures the heart of so many cross-cultural kids. In it she said, “When I am in the Blue land, I want to be Yellow. When I am in the Yellow land, I want to be Blue. Why can’t I be both? I just want to be green.” We want TCKs to know that not only is it 100% okay to be green, but they can be bright green! The Bright Green Project is an initiative to help TCKs thrive in the midst of the major challenges that come with growing up outside of your passport country. The international lifestyle can be tough at times but also incredible! There are amazing things being built into our students through their experiences and we don’t want you or your students to miss them.
