Strategic Planning

This workshop is a tool that has been developed to lead students through a step-by-step process of collaborative learning and planning, ending with a set of S.M.A.R.T. goals in order to jump start the appropriate next steps it will take to truly address the challenge they are facing. Start to finish it runs approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on how fast the group works. Great for student government teams, service clubs, or any group of students facing challenges to their vision or simply needing a thorough process for planning a major event or campaign.

INTRO AND TIMING What is your central challenge?
Setting the expectation from the beginning so everyone
is on the same page and ready to engage the topic
LEVEL ONE What is happening?
The group captures the most important issues related to the central challenge
so you will know where to apply your time and energy to see the issue resolved
LEVEL TWO Why is it happening?
The group examines the indicators of the central challenge and works to peel back the layers of why they are happening to reveal a root cause
LEVEL THREE What can we do?
The group is challenged to come up with powerful, creative ideas
that will address the root cause of the central challenge.
LEVEL FOUR How can we do it?
The group plans for successful implementation of an envisioned change, considering all the factors likely to help or hinder the acceptance of change.
LEVEL FIVE Action steps for personal application!
These are the tangible results of the workshop: a set of actions with deadlines that tells individual group members precisely what to do to address the central challenge and when the task needs to be completed
