ISC Philippines

DESCRIPTION

Service Trip: The Philippines Service Trip is a 10-day trip that gives students an opportunity to learn about service and how to show love to children by caring for their physical and spiritual needs through feeding the hungry, spending time with them, and assisting in construction projects. This trip takes place during the Chinese New Year vacation (Chun Jie) and is run by Shenyang International School. It is open to all ISC students in 10th – 12th grade.

GOALS

GOAL #1: Students will develop a servant’s heart and attitude toward those whom Jesus defines as our neighbor.

GOAL #2: The students’ worldview will broaden to include knowledge of the poor, their living environment, their daily struggles, and, for those who are believers, their view of God and His role in their life.

GOAL #3: Students will be united with each other and will show the same love and respect for one another that they do for the Filipinos.

REQUIREMENTS

Students must be in 10th – 12th grade, and must be prepared for the physical difficulties of manual labor in a hot climate. Having a desire to serve people and love children is also vital.
